In 2010, when Preveli beach was largely destroyed by the fire that raged there , it seemed that for a long time this place would be removed from the group of the greatest attractions of Crete. The sticky stumps of palm trees that remained from the old grove presented a very depressing view. Today we have the opportunity to present you a film from our this year's expedition to this beach. Of course, when visiting this beach, it is worth visiting the nearby monastery, which, apart from the beautiful location and magnificent views, also has a very interesting history. It is worth mentioning that the monastery signed up on the pages of World War II. In 1941, it became the place of evacuation of the Allied forces, which were submerged to Egypt by means of submarines.
We invite you to watch the short film that we made during our last visit to Knossos. We used the fact that in the summer season the opening hours were extended, which allowed to avoid visiting these excavations in the crowd of other tourists. Late afternoon is, in our opinion, the best time to visit the palace in Knossos.
Going deep into the Richtis Gorge located near the town of Exo Mouliana, it is hard not to resist the impression that it enters a land completely different from the rest of Crete. The abundance of water and shade mean that even at the peak of the tourist season, this place is full of lush vegetation. So obvious rust colors dominate in other places of Crete, they are completely absent here because their place is replaced by lush greenery.
