For guests entering the port of Heraklion, it would be the first place where they could come into contact with the culinary richness of Crete. At the market, tourists who disembark from the ships could immediately try the specialties for which the island is famous. In the longer term, this is to expand the market for culinary products.

It is certainly an interesting idea, as cruise ship passengers are often completely unfamiliar with the local products of the places where cruise ships call. The too short time they can spend on the island is also not conducive to getting to know the local flavors more thoroughly.
