Chrissi Island is one of the most important tourist attractions located in the area of south-eastern Crete. Unfortunately, this popularity brings very high costs to the natural environment. Therefore, attempts have been made for a long time to increase the protection of this place. These actions include, among other things, limiting access to local beaches. This is a solution that was already practiced last year. A large number of entrepreneurs from the Ierapetra area have been waiting impatiently for decisions related to the availability of Chrissi this year. However, in accordance with the adopted regulations, access to the island will be limited also during this tourist season. However, there will be slight exceptions to this rule.

The published notice includes provisions regarding environmental protection, access and visiting the island, as well as restrictions aimed at restoring the natural ecosystem. For tourists, it means that in the period from May 1 to October 31, there will be a ban on disembarkation from all types of ships. You will only be allowed on designated beaches. However, entering the interior of the island will be prohibited, in particular to the absolute protection zone, which includes dunes covered with cedar forest.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that, based on the decision of the Greek Minister of Culture and Sports, in the years 2023-2025, the Pelegrina and Vougiou Mati beaches on Chrissi were excluded from the beach concession system. This means that within the next three years, any business activity will be prohibited in these places and no infrastructure used to service tourist traffic will be available.

Compliance with the maritime regulations will be monitored by the Ierapetra Port Authority. With regard to the natural environment and the area of the cedar forest, the inspections will be carried out by the local forest inspectorate and the services of the Greek Ministry of the Environment. Any identified deficiencies and confirmed violations will be subject to the sanctions provided for in the service framework.
So many dry facts related to this year's organization of cruises on Chrissi. And by the way, we would like to cut off any discussions in advance about who and what was able to see in person on the so-called golden island despite the ban on admission. In our opinion, respecting applicable regulations is a sign of respect for the natural environment and for future generations.

Kiedyś była mniejsza, sława i dobre opinie spowodowały że się rozrosła. Pytanie tylko czy nadal trzyma poziom.

Byłem. Raz. I to wystarczy.
Duży lokal, głośny, pełno ludzi, bo popularność robi swoje. Personel zabiegany i, szczerze mówiąc, chyba zestresowany, bo nie ma mowy o sympatycznej pogawędce. Mało w tym typowo greckiej gościnności i sympatycznej atmosfery. Miejsce z typowymi chorobami dużego lokalu z dużą ilością klientów. Jedzenie - górna strefa stanów średnich, nic mnie nie powaliło na kolana.
Reasumując w dwóch słowach - dupy nie urwało. Dużo smaczniej i w lepszej atmosferze jadałem w miejscach oddalonych od centrów miast i turystycznych szlaków.
