Next Sunday, August 22, there will be a special full moon during which you will be able to visit selected museums and archaeological sites all over Greece. That night, 121 archaeological sites and museums will be accessible for free. Until August 25, 53 establishments of this type will additionally organize various events: concerts, performances, documentary screenings, exhibitions and guided tours.

Unfortunately, we have not found a list of these places that will be open that night anywhere. The organizer suggests that you find out locally in museums and excavations which of them will take part in these events. Participation has been confirmed by the Archaeological Museum of Rethymno, which will be available between 20.00 and 24.00

The concert organized at the Rokka archaeological site near Kissamos promises to be particularly atmospheric. The concert in the moonlight at the foot of the characteristic rock promises to be very romantic. Admission is free, but the number of places is limited. Every year, the Greek Ministry of Culture organizes visits to museums and moonlight excavations at this time. It is also a great opportunity to take extraordinary photos.

This year, all these events, due to Covid-19, will be conducted in accordance with current security protocols. Therefore, in confined spaces, you should expect to comply with the applicable limits of people and the use of masks.

gość PiotrWie Jeździliśmy na Kretę od 2008r, bywały lata że byliśmy w kilku kawałkach w sumie czterdzieści kilka dni ( samoloty z Wrocławia latały w piątek wieczorem tak że można było polecieć po pracy, powrotem był w poniedziałek w nocy więc za 11 dni urlopu można było być 17 dni, jak się zaplanowało z jakimś świętem to można było być 2 x 17 dni i raz 10 dni) i z roku na rok było coraz więcej ludzi - nie tylko na plażach ale ... Czy wyspa jest w stanie pomieścić 15 mln turystów, zapewne tak. Pytanie moje: skąd będzie woda?! Jak już brakuje, tama na Aposelemis sucha, gdzie ścieki popłyną, gdzie będą składowane śmieci??? Smutne, że wyspa zamienia się na globalną destynację.. rozumiem, że pieniądze są ważne ale żeby dewastować naturalne tereny np.triopetra, plakias etc... przykro
