New entry rules for Greece, also for convalescents

data_2021-05-24 19:34:18 2021-05-24 19:34:18

The Greek Civil Aviation Authority has introduced new slightly amended aviation directives regarding entry requirements to Greece. The most important change concerns covid healers who will be able to enter Greece without performing an expensive PCR test.

New entry rules for Greece

Mandatory PLF

At the beginning, however, we remind you of what has not changed since last year and is still a necessary condition during the trip. This is a Passenger Location Form (PLF) that must be completed up to 24 hours prior to travel. All travelers, irrespective of nationality, must complete the form, which can be found on travel.gov.gr. After filling it in, you will receive a QR code, which is checked primarily before boarding the plane. Its absence means that you will not be allowed to fly. Unfortunately, such cases still happen among travelers, so we remind you of this obligation. Airlines face financial penalties if they bring such a passenger, so don't expect a reduced fare here.

Vaccinations, tests or healers

As for the other border crossing rules, travelers can enter Greece if they meet one of the following points:

  1. If they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. However, it is required that 14 calendar days have elapsed from the date of vaccination, counting from the day following the administration of the last dose. As the Embassy of Greece in Poland assures, Polish vaccination certificates issued by CEZ (e-health center) in English and Polish in the current form are fully accepted in Greece. This information was sent to all entry points to Greece. The Greek government website travel.gov.gr also states that vaccination certificates must include information such as the number of doses and the dates of administration, as well as the full name of the person as they appear on their passport or other recognized travel document. This is important information because we have received signals that the Polish certificate was not honored due to the lack of information about the type of vaccine used.

  2. If they present a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Greece. In order for such a test to be honored, it must be performed in a certified laboratory and drawn up in English. This test is compulsory for all tourists (who do not meet the other conditions), including children over 5 years of age. Therefore, if you are traveling with a child who has not received the vaccine, he should have a PCR test.

  3. What has been changed in the latest directive is to allow entry for people who have recovered from COVID at least 2 months before arrival, but no later than 9 months before crossing the border.
To prove it, the result of a positive PCR test should be presented, which will confirm the incidence of covid. This document must also be issued (or translated by a sworn translator) into English. If you do not already have such an archived result, it is recommended to contact the laboratory where you performed the test and ask for a certificate (the date will be required).
According to the Greek Embassy in Poland, the antibody test issued by a certified laboratory is also honored. However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that there is a certain information mess in this matter at the moment. The travel.gov.gr hotline provides information that in the case of convalescents, both documents are required at the same time . If there is any clear information on this matter, we will definitely include it. Until now, in case of doubt, it is best to contact the travel.gov.gr helpline (in English) tel .: 00302155605151

Screening tests

However, regardless of the certificate, each traveler may be appointed to perform an additional obligatory screening test after crossing the border. If such a test is refused, the Greek authorities may refuse entry to their territory.

W piatek lece do Chanii Rayanerem z Wrocławia. Mam dodatni wynik Covid z 4.04.

gość dodekanezowiec: Moim zdaniem - gdyby porównywać Grecję, Hiszpanię i południowe Włochy to: 1. W kategorii autentyczność: Włochy (np. Kalabria, Sycylia) - 9/10, Grecja - 8/10, Hiszpania - 3/10 2. W kategorii "frontem do potrzeb turysty": Hiszpania - 9/10, Grecja - 7 i pół/10, Włochy - 4/10.  Hiszpania to jakość hoteli, świetna infrastruktura, ale i taka "macdonaldyzacja turystyki" + blokowiska.
