The Venetian port of Chania is one of the best known tourist destinations in Crete. Picturesque houses, Faros lighthouse, characteristic benches and a huge number of taverns located along the waterfront are associated with the port. During the season, the Venetian Port attracts crowds from the morning until late at night. It is not surprising, therefore, that as part of a charity campaign, the Cretans decided to bring order to this city's showcase.

Last Saturday from the early morning hours (i.e. 10 am) as part of the action "We protect what we love" began cleaning the port bottom. This project was organized by the Municipal Port Fund in Chania. About 100 volunteers and over 40 divers took part in the cleaning. According to the initiators of this action, this city symbol should be one of the cleanest places. Unfortunately, he was far from perfect lately. In the photo report below you can see what "treasures" were extracted from the sea bottom.
