The beginning of Matala Beach Festival 2019

This evening, the ninth edition of the legendary Matala Beach Festival began . For the next three days from 21 until June 23, all people participating in the event will play to the sounds of music inspired by the subculture of flower children. As in the case of other editions of this festival, the admission to all concerts is completely free.

If you would like to join the crowd of people playing during this event and dreaming of spending the night in Matala, we would like to cool your enthusiasm. Finding vacant quarters these days will be rather impossible at this time. For the duration of the festival, accommodations have been exhausted many months before. However, there is no need to break your hands, you can always go to Matali with your own car or even better via public transport.

The KTEL company, which is one of the partners of the Matala Beach Festival, has prepared for the duration of the festival a very dense network of bus connections. Every day from Friday to Sunday, buses of this carrier will be practically every hour to Matala from Heraklion and Mires. A detailed schedule can be found in the graphic below this paragraph.

For those who are not afraid of a more spartan life, there is also an option to use the campsite located in this town. Matala Camping provides an area of approximately 40,000. sq m, which is located near the famous beach. As part of a daily fee of 4.5 € per person, 3 € for the tent and 3 € for the car you get the opportunity to use the basic services necessary for survival;).
