The regional authorities in Chania in consultation with the local Department of Civil Protection made a decision that during periods of particularly high fire risk (level 4 - very high and 5-alarm) access to some of the hiking trails will be limited. These regulations will in particular relate to such places as the Samaria Gorge, Agia Irini, Imbros and others located in the area of the White Mountains National Park.
It is not difficult to guess that the current change in regulations has been particularly affected by a series of devastating fires, which at the end of July affected not only the continental part of Greece but also to a limited extent also of Crete. The ban on entering selected areas has a significant reduction in the risk of fire. It is worth remembering that in most cases it is people and their activities that cause fires.
The managers of the above-mentioned areas were obliged to implement the necessary changes as soon as possible to allow the implementation of the new regulations. It is very likely that if there are periods of high fire risk during this year's season, among others, the Samaria gorge will not be available to visitors. All persons planning hiking trips to the aforementioned places should control the level of fire hazard. The easiest way to do this is via the website: https://www.civilprotection.gr/el/daily-fire-prediction-map . We, for our part, if possible, will also inform about any plans to close access to these routes.

odp. Imbross - otwarty
20.08 był trzeci stopnień zagrożenia, więc zgodnie z przepisami dostęp do szlaków był dozwolony.
