The first weeks of the year are traditionally a time for summaries, forecasts, and rankings related to the upcoming season. Among the most important rankings are those published by Tripadvisor – one of the largest and most recognizable travel websites in the world. The Travelers' Choice Best of the Best ranking, a significant indicator of current trends, was released for the first time. In this ranking of the 25 best tourist destinations in the world, Crete ranked ninth for the third consecutive year.

It's worth noting that the island has been at the top of this ranking for years, and in previous years, it ranked even higher. This stable position in the top ten is an excellent result and bodes well for the upcoming season. Crete shows no signs of losing momentum and continues to attract crowds of travelers, suggesting that the island will once again be crowded in the coming months.

Which destinations have overtaken Crete? This year's ranking of the world's best destinations is headed by Bali (1), followed by London (2), Dubai (3), Hanoi (4), Paris (5), Rome (6), Marrakesh (7), and Bangkok (8).

While there are many similar rankings available, the Travelers' Choice rankings deserve special attention. Winners are selected using an algorithm that analyzes millions of user-submitted reviews and ratings over the past 12 months. This methodology considers not only the quality but also the quantity of reviews, ensuring the data is reliable and trustworthy for travelers.

Tripadvisor's vast reach means its rankings truly shape the vacation decisions of travelers worldwide. The service is currently available in 49 local markets and 28 languages. The total number of reviews collected has already exceeded 1.1 billion, covering approximately 8 million properties and attractions, confirming the platform's status as a global leader in the travel industry.

gość PiotrWie  Jeździliśmy na Kretę od 2008r, bywały lata że byliśmy w kilku kawałkach w sumie czterdzieści kilka dni ( samoloty z Wrocławia latały w piątek wieczorem tak że można było polecieć po pracy, powrotem był w poniedziałek w nocy więc za 11 dni urlopu można było być 17 dni, jak się zaplanowało z  jakimś świętem to można było być 2 x 17 dni i raz 10 dni) i z roku na rok było coraz więcej ludzi - nie tylko na plażach ale ... (...)
 Czy wyspa jest w stanie pomieścić 15 mln turystów, zapewne tak. Pytanie moje: skąd będzie woda?! Jak już brakuje, tama na Aposelemis sucha, gdzie ścieki popłyną, gdzie będą składowane śmieci??? Smutne, że wyspa zamienia się na globalną destynację.. rozumiem, że pieniądze są ważne ale żeby dewastować naturalne tereny np.triopetra, plakias etc... przykro

 Można próbować zrozumieć ludzi, którzy z tego żyją. Można też puścić ludzi na żywioł i nie zajmować się takimi głupotami, jak ofiary śmiertelne. Samaria nie jest szlakiem w 100% bezpiecznym (który szlak jest), to głęboki wąwóz, narażony na erozyjne osunięcia skał. Poza ty, to jest region aktywny sejsmicznie i dość kapryśny pogodowo. Myślę, że tu nie ma miejsca na ustępstwa. (...)

gość PiotrWie  Dziś po raz pierwszy ( a jeździmy dużo od 2008 roku i dużo chodzimy po szlakach) widzieliśmy w Grecji ekipę przygotowującą szlak do sezonu. Nie była to co prawda zbyt duża ekipa - dwie osoby z motyką, sekatorem i niewielką piłą ręczną - ale zawsze coś - na wyspach Kanaryjskich ekipa to pierwszy z kosą spalinową a zanim kilka osób zmiatających resztki na bok.
