As announced, entry prices to the Minoan palace in Knossos have increased since the beginning of April. An adult ticket has gone up by 5 euros and now costs €20. From 1 October to 31 May, citizens of the European Union over 65 years of age can take advantage of a 50% discount (€10). The condition for using it is to show your passport.
Free admission tickets are available to, among others, EU citizens up to 25 years of age (upon presentation of an identity card or passport), as well as children and young people up to 18 years of age who are not citizens of EU countries. In this case, it will also be necessary to present a passport.
Free admission to Knossos is also available to everyone on selected days of the year falling on the following dates:
First and third Sunday of each month from November 1 to March 31 each year.
To avoid queuing at the ticket office during the season, it is worth buying an electronic ticket on the website: https://hhticket.gr/ In the case of Crete, you can also buy tickets to the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion and Chania on this website.
Since last year, e-tickets have been sold for a specific time slot. Such a ticket is valid 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the selected time slot. However, visitors are advised to arrive 30 minutes before their paid entry slot.
Knossos can be visited practically all day long all year round, but the closing hours are adjusted to the time of twilight as follows:
