7th Sfakian Pie Festival

If you have planned your holiday in Crete at the end of August, you will have the opportunity to take part in the Sfakian Pie festival! This festival will be held on August 26, 2023 in Chora Sfakion (Sfakia) on the south coast of Crete. The event will start at 20:30 at the port. This festival will be organized for the seventh time and promises to be really fun.

We will explain that Sfakian Pie ( Σφακιανής Πίτας ) is a traditional dish of the Sfakia region in Crete, from which the name of the dish comes. It is simply a cake that is kneaded together with mizithra or anthotyros cheese and after frying it is poured with honey.... If you want to try this cake, it is only possible in the Sfakia region.

According to the announcement of the organizer of the event, the Sfakian pie will appear in large quantities, as well as other regional food, music and dancing. You can see what it looked like last year in the video below.
