This year, after a two-year hiatus caused by a pandemic, the Skinakas Observatory is organizing open days again. Five evenings have been announced, during which it will be possible to visit this scientific facility and observe astronomical objects. The nearest date when it will be possible to observe the stars with one of the two telescopes located here falls this Sunday, July 10. The observatory is located on the top of the Skinakas mountain (1750 m above sea level) near the mythical Ida cave on the beautiful and picturesque Nida plateau. The views here are unforgettable, so even if you do not like the dates of the open days and you are not scared by the mountain roads of Crete, we encourage you to take a trip to this area.
