Crete is a large island that requires much more than 2-3 days to visit. There are many interesting places here. Distances can also be considerable, as attractions are often located in different regions of the island. Of course, when you go to Crete for the first time, you probably want to see the most important places and monuments from must-see lists.

However, there is a large group of people who return to Crete to get to know her a bit more. Others, on the other hand, do not have the option or the desire to go on long-distance trips and prefer to choose attractions located close to the hotel. That's why last year we started creating a series of guides, which we eventually called Visit Local . In our opinion, this name reflects the keynote that accompanies this series well.

What is it about? From each prefecture, we select the most interesting places and arrange them thematically according to several categories. This series is under construction, so at the moment you will find the developed region of Chania and partially the region of Rethymno. Let this series be an encouragement and inspiration to visit also those places that are relatively close to the hotel or guesthouse where you are currently staying.

If you do not find interesting attractions here, you may find them in the section Interesting places in Crete . This is a list of places we have described that are worth paying attention to. As far as our modest time possibilities are concerned, we try to develop both projects.
