The Asterousia Mountains are one of the more wild and less accessible parts of Crete. It is also a place where the notion of mass tourism seems completely abstract and very distant. As an incentive to visit this area, we would like to invite you to watch a short film by Giannis Psaroudakis. During his travels around Crete, he also visited this interesting corner of the island.
In the first part of the movie you will be able to see the very interesting Tsoutsouros Gorge. Its length is estimated at 1.5 km, so it is relatively short. However, this should not confuse you, because the difficulty of the transition in this case is inversely proportional. To cross this ravine, you need very good mountaineering skills, as well as being equipped with appropriate climbing equipment. Each daredevil defeating Tsoutsouros has to cover about 12 zip lines, the longest of which is about 30 meters.
In the middle of the movie you will have some shots from the village of Maridaki. It is one of those places that allow you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern civilization. It is in vain to look for larger hotels full of luxury here. The accommodation base is limited only to a few small family guesthouses, which do not offer any particular amenities. However, judging by the comments of the guests, their greatest asset is genuine Greek hospitality. If in your holiday plans one of the leading positions is the point called "peace of mind", then this region of Crete is definitely worth considering.

Oby masowa turystyka na zawsze pozostała tu w sferze abstrakcji. To mój ukochany kawałek Krety
