This week, Greek hoteliers said they would make their facilities available to Ukrainian war refugees to provide shelter in the first place. Further actions are to provide assistance in obtaining the required residence permits in Greece and enable people willing to be employed in hotels during the upcoming season. In order to help war refugees from Ukraine, Greek ministries will also look for temporary jobs in agricultural, production and catering companies. Since the beginning of the invasion, 3,155 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Greece, of which more than 2,700 had been granted temporary migrant status in Greece by Friday afternoon.
The evacuation of Greek citizens from Odessa, who, among others, worked on board Greek ships stuck in the local port, is also underway. Some Greek emigrants, diplomats and journalists from the Mariupol war zone were also evacuated. Last week, several Greek citizens living in this region of Ukraine were killed in the course of the Russian shelling.
The crisis caused by the attack on Russia disrupted global supply chains, causing an increase in the prices of raw materials. Energy and fuel prices are rampant, food and other consumer goods are more expensive. Since yesterday, the price of gasoline in Crete has exceeded 2 euros per liter. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the gallop of increases, as fuel is still more expensive at 5-6 cents per liter each day. Greece plans to set a limit on gross margins on fuel, food and other goods and services essential to health, transport and safety. These restrictions would initially apply until the end of June. "I don't want to lie to people. The coming period will not be easy in terms of prices, "Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis told Greek radio on Friday. Unfortunately, the words of the Greek minister are words that apply to virtually all of us. Today, tomorrow, and for many months to come, we will bear the cost of Putin's insane policies.

Joanna Czapla Ukraina to Europa, wg mnie to kwestia "więzów" kulturowych.
