The turn of the year always prompts you to create summaries and New Year's resolutions. We are not supporters of the latter, but we like summaries.
An interesting summary was published today by the portal meteo.gr. This study covers the average temperatures in Crete in 2021. It shows that for 9 months of last year, the average temperature on the island was higher than the average recorded in this region in the decade 2010-2019 .
The warmest months were January, in which the average recorded temperature was +2.3 degrees higher, May (+2.0) and August (+2.1). The wave of hot air masses that flowed over Greece in the second half of last year's August was especially painful for the inhabitants of the island and for tourists vacationing here. The temperatures recorded during the day this month even reached over 43 0 C, and at night they did not fall below 25-26 degrees. Such high indications caused a high fire risk. For security reasons, the entrance to the Samaria Gorge and Natura sites and other forest zones have been closed.
The coldest months of the previous year were October (-1.2), followed by March (-1.1). Only in June and September were the average temperatures identical to the average from the last decade.
The compiled data was collected on the basis of records from 53 meteorological stations of the National Center in Athens. These indications confirmed that in as many as 5 out of 7 administrative regions of Greece last year's average temperatures were higher than in the previous decade.

Może tak być
Mam w telefonie pogodę dla kilku śródziemnomorskich miast, w tym Ierapetra i ta Kreta faktycznie trochę bryluje.
