Heraklion - a cinematic morning walk

The slightly less touristic nature of everyday life makes Heraklion much slower to come to life. Morning is the perfect time of day to stroll around the city. Even in the most popular and recognizable places in the city, you can meet a relatively small number of tourists. Most of the people passed on the sidewalks are Heraklion residents, preoccupied with their own affairs.
In the morning, however, it can be extremely noisy next to the Morosini fountain. The crowd is particularly intense here on weekends, when entire multi-generational families come to the cafes located here. The purpose of their visit, of course, apart from meeting each other, is one - eat at least one, maybe two pieces of bougats. In our opinion, one of the best in Crete.
