Probably many people are waiting impatiently for the decision to lift the ban on entry to national parks, Natura 2000 areas, the E4 route, as well as forests and groves. This ban was introduced last Friday (06/08) and was to apply until today (09/08) until 6.00. Unfortunately, due to the very high risk of starting fires throughout the territory of Crete, a decision was made today to extend this ban until Friday, August 13, 2021, until 8 am.
This prohibition also covers roads and routes (including the E4 route) within the White Mountains and the Samaria Gorge. In this case, one should also wait for the announcement lifting the bans currently in force.
At the same time, we would also like to remind you that the above-mentioned prohibition of access to Natura 2000 areas, national parks and forests excludes places that are inhabited areas, tourist farms, as well as those located in the coastal and marine zones, within river and lake ecosystems. Humanly speaking, places like Balos, Preveli, Elafonissi etc. are available.
The initial decision of the authorities concerned the prohibition of entry to these areas, but an exception was soon made for these places.
At the same time, it must be remembered that all activities and work that may cause a fire are prohibited under administrative penalty. On our part, we would also like to ask you to pay special attention to what is happening around you. In the present situation, a small cigarette butt or a bottle thrown into the bushes may contribute to a dangerous fire. If you see a potentially dangerous situation - react as soon as possible. In this way, yesterday the fire in the vicinity of Kissamos was quickly extinguished.
We also know that due to these bans, many people had to change their plans for sightseeing and excursions around Crete. Don't break these prohibitions. There will not be a road closed and a policeman standing everywhere, but that does not mean that the ban can be disregarded. The closure of these areas is intended to ensure the safety of, first of all, tourists. If the worst happens, help may not come. Don't take any chances, it's not worth it.

Wasze wiadomości są zawsze na piątkę. Niecierpliwością czekam każdego dnia. Przez pomyłkę wcisnęłam 1 gwiazdkę miało być 5. Co do zakazów zrozumiałe liczy się bezpieczeństwo.

Dzień dobry, czy zakaz dotyczy również Jeziora Kournas? Jest ton obszar Natura2000, ale czy potraktowano go jak np. Balos? Czy jest gdzieś może lista miejsc wyłączonych z zakazu? Pozdrawiam serdecznie Emilia
