Christmas decorations in Chania

Recently, we wrote to you that Heraklion - the capital of Crete was decorated with Christmas lighting that appeared in the squares and streets of this city. The authorities of the city of Chania approached the topic of Christmas decorations somewhat differently. Recently, the masts of boats mooring in the Venetian Port have been decorated with light chains. Watching the video below, we must admit that the port that has been transformed this way has a much more festive character.

Finally, it is worth adding that decorating a Christmas tree in Greece is a relatively new "tradition". In earlier times it was the very decorating of boats that symbolized the celebration of Christmas. As you can see, the port illumination in Chania fits perfectly into the true symbolism of Greek holidays.
