Vai is one of the most famous beaches of Crete and at the same time the largest natural palm forest in Europe. It covers approximately 250,000 square meters of space. Of course, in Crete itself you will find a few other places where the Cretan date palms Phoenix theophrasti grow, but it is Vai that they cover the largest area. In the eighties of the last century, Vai was recognized as a natural protected area, so hotels and other buildings cannot be built here. This area is only accessible during the day. You cannot make fires here, put up tents, and any activities that may endanger the flora and fauna are prohibited. However, thanks to such restrictive measures, Vai is still a beautiful, though crowded place.

Vai? Tylko fotka i wiać stamtąd. Okoliczne plaże też piękne, bez tłumów i smrodu z tawerny plażowej
