During our last year's stay in Crete, we had a planned trip to the waterfall Milonas (Μυλωνά). Unfortunately, the exceptionally dry last year's spring caused that the place quickly dried up during the summer. At the time when we were there, there was only a big muddy mud left just below the rock wall. With more pleasure we watched the film by Giannis Psaroudakis, where you can see how this place looks like during this year's extremely wet spring. The abundantly flowing water looks very picturesque and gives the Milonas waterfall a very special look.
If you are currently in the area of south-eastern Crete, we encourage you to walk along the trail leading to the waterfall of Milonas. It is relatively easy, and its transition should not pose any difficulties even for less experienced walkers.
Below you can see our picture of the Milonas waterfall without water.
