A new underwater cave in Crete

One of the news that has recently circulated almost all local media in Crete is the discovery of an underwater cave located in the area of ​​Spathas. Its existence has been presumed for six years on the basis of surveys and geological maps implemented in this region of the island. Tangible evidence confirming these assumptions was provided only by an in-depth exploration of the sea bottom made by divers gathered around the diving center www.chaniadiving.gr .

Above you can see the film on which the immersion and partial exploration of the cave were recorded. Of course, this discovery is not the end of work related to this place. Further mapping will be carried out in the near future. Certainly, it can be expected that in the future this cave will become the destination of underwater tourism.
