Another eight Greek beaches lost their right to use the Blue Flag distinction this year. On this infamous list was also one place found in Crete. According to the information provided by the Greek Society for Nature Conservation, it is Kalathas beach located on the Akrotiri peninsula in the region of Chania.
For now, it is not known what were the detailed deficiencies found on this bathing site. More detailed information in this regard is to be published at a later date. In the press release provided by the Greek Society for Nature Conservation, only information was found that after carrying out unannounced inspections in these places, a number of deficiencies were found covering such aspects as: cleanliness, safety of bathers and protection of the coastal environment.
Kalathas Beach is a popular destination not only among tourists but also permanent residents of Chania. This is particularly evident at weekends, when the beach is filled with a lot of Greek families.
It is worth emphasizing here that the loss of the Blue Flag is not only the lack of the possibility of using this distinction until the end of this year, but also the withdrawal of the right to apply for it in 2019.

Bardzo radykalne. No ale dzięki temu turyści mają świadomość bezpieczeństwa i komfortu.

Takie reguły gry. Na razie nie podano jednak za co odebrano wyróżnienie.

A możesz podać jakieś szczegóły? Byliśmy na niej kilka razy, a jej główną wadą którą zauważyliśmy było to że jest bardzo oblegana.
