Gournia prototype of the modern village

Gournia is one of the most characteristic excavations located in the eastern part of Crete. The vast area of ​​archaeological excavations is perfectly visible from the New Way running in the area. Interestingly, many archaeologists indicate that in terms of architecture, there was a close resemblance between the type of buildings in the city of Gournia and some of the modern Cretan villages.
