Over the past few years, Seitan Limania has become a beach that has joined the top spots of the most recognizable places in Crete. In the high season, a lot of people come here, which is not discouraged by a wild walking trail leading to the beach or a winding, steep road leading to the parking lot. The fact that the driveway is really heavy is shown by the end of our movie ;-)
The Koules Fortress is one of the most characteristic monuments of Heraklion. Once it was an element of fortifications that formed a tight ring that girded the capital of Crete. Today, this building has only a historical function and reminds of the power of the Venetians who ruled Crete during the period of splendor of this fortress.
Krios beach is located about 9 km west of Paleochora and it is also the last beach on this section of the southern coast, accessible by road. If you are looking for a slightly less crowded place and you do not care about the perfect sand, you should be satisfied by choosing this beach.
We invite you to watch the short film that we made during our last visit to Knossos. Late afternoon is, in our opinion, the best time to visit the palace in Knossos.
