Promotional film for the new Archaeological Museum in Chania

Last week we wrote about the opening of the new Archaeological Museum in Chania , to which the exhibition was moved from the current location in the old part of the city. Larger spaces of the new building allowed for the display of a thousand exhibits, which until now, due to lack of space, could not please the eyes of lovers of archaeological finds. Until 2020, the Archaeological Museum in Chania was located in the medieval, small church of Agios Fragiskos . A short comparison of the two buildings is shown in the promotional video of the Greek Ministry of Culture. Certainly, many people added a visit to this museum to the list of places worth visiting during the season. Before this happens, however, you can now take a moment to look into the new spaces of the Museum and see how historical exhibits were transferred to it.
