From July 1, there is a significant change in the way the bus traffic is organized between Heraklion and Rethymno. From next Monday, buses running on this route will not be reaching the KTEL station in the center of Rethymno . Most of the courses offered on this route will end in the area around the beltway. This change is due to the need to limit the bus traffic served by the bus station in Rethymno. At present, this building, similarly to the surrounding road infrastructure, is much different from the requirements imposed by the intensity of modern bus traffic.
At the beginning of July, only one bus going to Heraklion will enter the center of Rethymno. An hour later at 6:30 a course will also be run from Rethymno to Heraklion, which will be the only one to leave the station located in the center of this town.
It is also worth noting that tickets for this route will continue to be sold at ticket offices located at the KTEL station in Rethymno . Their purchase will entitle you to use the accessibility of city buses to the new KTEL stop. This opportunity will also be available to people coming to Rethymno from Heraklion. Having a ticket for this route will entitle you to free passage to the old station within an hour.
