Despite the fact that the Ambas waterfall has already been hosted on the pages of our site, we are happy to provide you with another film from this region of Crete. We do it all the more willingly that it shows the spring face of the island. The lush greenery that grows on the Asterousia Mountains gives them a completely different look compared to what this Crete region looks like at the peak of the holiday season.
Ambas Gorge (φαράγγι του Αμπά) is located about 53 kilometers south of Heraklion. Its origin is located at an altitude of about 710 m above sea level on a small plateau located near the town of Paranyma (Παρανύμφων). The end is determined by Treis Ekklisies beach. One of the most characteristic points of this ravine is the majestic waterfall, about 145 meters high.
