From May 18 there will be another step in removing restrictions in Greece. In addition to the restart of various services and stores, more than two hundred different archaeological sites will be available. So if you would like to visit, for example, Knossos , Fajstos or Eleftherna in Crete, it will be possible again tomorrow.
The opening of excavations is the first step to fully launching the cultural infrastructure after the coronavirus crisis. The stands will operate immediately during "summer" extended opening hours, ie between 8 and 20 o'clock. All necessary safety measures will also be introduced, i.e. observance of 1.5 meters, limiting the number of visitors, separating the entrance and exit, marking safe tourist routes and putting plexiglass curtains where necessary and possible. It is also recommended to wear masks and use disinfectants.
The existing stores will also be launched at the excavations, of course, all sanitary rules will also apply.
