On the group "Λευκά Όρη - Χανιά Κρήτης" operating within the framework of the FB, a graphic was placed, within which two photographs showing the same area of the White Mountains were put together. One of them was made on March 9, 2019, the other on the same day, but last year. Comparing these two photographs, it's easy to see how the two landscapes differ. Last year's irregular snow stretches this year have been replaced by a uniform snow cover.
About how much snow has fallen this year on Crete, let it also testify to the fact that in several places in Crete small snow avalanches have been recorded. Of course, these are not completely unknown phenomena in the mountainous regions of the island, but they do not happen very often. In the following video you can see how the landscape looks like after passing an avalanche in the area of the village of Kares.
